Tillo and the Clever Crow (ไทย)

One sunny morning, Tillo the story-sore heard a little sigh. Oh dear! On a low branch sat a crow named Coco. What's wrong? asked Tillo. I'm thirsty, said Coco. I've found some water, but I can't reach it. She fluttered down beside a tall clay jug. There was water inside, right at the bottom. Coco dipped her beak into the opening. Stretch. Stretch. But the water was too far down. Let me try, said Tillo. He carefully tipped the jug a little, but it was heavy. He gently set it down again. We need another idea. Coco sat beside the jug and looked at her feet. I've tried and tried. Tillo sat beside her. I've tried and tried. Tillo sat beside her. Let's take a little thinking break. They listened to the leaves rustling. They watched a butterfly float past. Then Coco noticed some smooth little pebbles on the ground. She tilted her head. What happens when a pebble goes into water? Let's see, said Tillo. Coco picked up a pebble in her beak and dropped it into the jug. Plop! They peered inside. The water moved, said Coco. She dropped in another pebble. Plop! And another. Plop! Tillo looked carefully. The water is getting higher. Coco flapped her wings with excitement. Perhaps we can bring the water up to me. Tillo gathered a few more pebbles. Up to me! Tillo gathered a few more small pebbles and placed them beside the jug. Coco dropped them in. One at a whine. Plop! Plop! Plop! Little by little, the water rose. Soon, it was close enough for Coco to reach. She took a lovely long drink. That's better. Tillo clapped his little hands. The golden star on his left cheek sparkled. You found a clever way. Coco smiled. At first, I thought I couldn't do it. Then you stopped, looked around and tried something different, said Tillo. And you helped me, said Coco. The two friends sat together beneath the shady tree. Tillo turned towards the children watching. Sometimes, our first idea doesn't work. That's OK. We can pause, look around and try another way.
