Mara was rescued from a stable where the previous owner had neglected her. She was so thin she couldn't stand on her own. We used a hoist to lift her up. Had to take her to the intensive care unit. She looked like she had given up on life. We didn't know if she would make it. She received advanced IV fluid therapy along with other medications and plenty of supportive care. For the next weeks, we had to hand feed her and monitor her very closely. Slowly, she started feeling a bit stronger. After 20 days, she was finally able to stand up on her own. She is a completely different mare now and she will always be taken care of.
