It was Saturday, the 7th of November, 2026, and something wonderful was happening on Blackheath in South East London. Tillo the Story Saw and his best friends Toby the Tortoise, Hoppy the Hare and Pip the Mouse were heading out for a very special adventure. They were visiting the spectacular Blackheath Fireworks display. The event, organised by Slammin' Events in partnership with Lewisham Council, promised an evening of dazzling entertainment, exciting fairground rides, music, laughter and magnificent fireworks. Tillo wore his favourite blue winter coat and woolly hat, Toby had wrapped himself in a cosy scarf, Hoppy wore his warmest jumper and little Pip was bundled up in a tiny red coat. Come on everyone, there's so much to see! As the friends arrived, their eyes widened with amazement, Blackheath was glowing with thousands of colourful lights. The huge fairground rides spun high above the crowds, a giant wheel sparkled against the night sky and the delicious smell of freshly cooked treats drifted through the air. Woah! Look at that enormous ride! I think I'll keep my feet on the ground, Pip giggled. Don't worry Toby, I'll stay down here with you, Tillo smiled. Remember friends, we must stay together, listen to our grown-ups and follow the safety signs. Suddenly, the sound of drums echoed across Blackheath, the friends hurried towards a brightly lit stage where a live band was playing a wonderfully cheerful tune. Guitars strummed, drums clacked and the crowd clapped along. Tillo began tapping his feet, Hoppy bounced up and down, Pip clapped his tiny paws, while Toby nodded his head to the rhythm. This is fantastic, music makes everyone happy! Next, the friends discovered a comedy performance, a funny comedy strategy, made by the audience. Why did the dinosaur cross the road? Tillo looked surprised. Was he talking about me? To get to the other side, before the tortoise caught up. Everyone burst into laughter, even Toby laughed. Well, I might be slow, but I always get there eventually. Pip laughed so hard that his little hat nearly fell off. Oh, my tummy hurts from laughing! Tillo smiled. Sometimes, sharing a laugh is the best part of an adventure. Suddenly, lively drums began beating from another stage. Colorful dancers appeared, wearing magnificent feathered costumes. It was time for samba dancing. The music was irresistible. Hoppy began hopping to the beat, Pip wiggled his little tail, Toby swayed slowly from side to side. And Tillo? Well, Tillo started dancing so enthusiastically that his scarf nearly flew away. Come on Toby, show us your best moves! Toby smiled. I may be the slowest dancer here, but I've certainly got rhythm. Everyone laughed and danced together beneath the sparkling lights. Then, something extraordinary happened. The music changed, the lights dimmed, and from a special performance stage came an amazing sight. Bright sparkles and blue bulbs of electricity flashed through the air. The performers were creating a spectacular lightning show using special equipment. Wow! It looks like real magic! Tillo watched in amazement. It's incredible! But remember friends, electricity is very powerful and dangerous. Toby nodded. That's why we must stay behind the safety barriers and never touch electrical equipment. Hoppy's heart was brightened as another brilliant flash lit up the night. That was absolutely brilliant! But Tillo smiled knowingly. Just wait until the fireworks! At last, it was time for the grand fireworks display. The friends joined their grown-up in a safe viewing area. The lights dimmed, the crowd grew quiet, and then... A magnificent golden firework soared higher and higher. Red, green, blue and purple stars exploded across the night sky. Look! It's beautiful! Golden fountains sparkled like waterfalls of light. Colourful fireworks blossomed like enormous flowers in the sky. But little Pip wasn't cheering. He was trembling behind Toby's shell. Oh dear! Those bangs are terribly loud! Tillo noticed immedia
